Hi, my name is Sean Brock and I've got to tell you, I remember MY very first drum lesson. It was the day after John Bonham died well actually it was 2 days after let me explain. It was Saturday, September 27th, 1980, and a little music store in Braeside, Calgary, Alberta.

The Drum teacher was late about half an hour. The store manager asked him why he was so late. He said he was sorry, he was out last night (well apparently 2 nights, Celebration of life let's say) with friends who had been saddened by the news of Bonham's death. The store manager says “This poor little kid is in waiting for you for over half an hour” pointing at me. Then I proceeded to say (and I swear to God this is true) ... who's John Bonham?

 I was 12.

Needless to say, that was the best question I could have ever asked the teacher.

In disbelief, he asked me who my favorite drummer was, ... I said well

Neil Peart of course.

The teacher being dismayed that I didn't know who John Bonham was proceeded to spend the next hour and 25 minutes showing me the difference between the 2 drummers. My mom was wondering what was taking me so long my lesson was only supposed to be a 1/2 an hour.
Years later being a pro drummer now for over 37 years I've had multiple fans and friends tell me that I'm a seemingly perfect cross between the 2 drummers.

I only took 4 lessons from that guy (I really wish I could remember his name) but he basically made me the drummer I am today.

Thinking about that now still gives me ... well, ...Goosebumps.

Which brings me to why I decided to become a drum teacher. I want every student I teach to get that feeling, ...

 those,

.... Goosebumps.

 It's that simple.

I can teach you how to really "feel" the drums and get in that pocket like Bonham, ....into the groove.

Then, ... explode with the intensity of a skilled instrumentalist like Neil Peart and pull it all together.
